Heart it

 

His heart aches while the lungs gasp for air,
His tongue stays quiet, though my soul's in despair.
His confused mind with itself about words in debate,
Has wisdom escaped while upon is cast his fate
Is time a thief, or does it wait in love's light,
To share the words, to shine through darkest night?
These tangled thoughts, like chains, hold him in place,
The pain, it blossoms, yet fear masks my face.
He imagines whispers that edges him to despair,
If love had known the secrets hidden there.
Perhaps these jewels of his thoughts he tries to share,
Are just the pieces of a broken heart laid bare.

Love is Magical

The greatest father

I had a dream, I had a dream to be a great father
But in truth it takes more than one person to be that father
For without offspring that was never a dream to be true
Blessed indeed am I that I have a son like you

If what you have achieved was mostly to please me
Understand in your life it is always between you and He
Always a parent is anxious for his child that he may fall
Fearing to get up and not battling to win the ball

How you straightened my back since I too must meet expectations
Of a child who since young was great with his recitations
He loved always to kick a ball and loving the playground to be the field
While as a dad I think only that I must from the dangers you shield

I realised and understand that your life and era is a time beyond us
Watching you grow you may not have understood the fuss
It's not about the detail but always about the goal
For I may not live to see it all as from my body departs my soul

But you are smart and wisdom will come with time
Life is more than a poem that has some rhyme
It is to love and be loved and be the greatest son
For without him no father can be great when all is said and done

Ah the pride when a father sees his child facing the world with strength
Overcoming obstacles and with perseverance triumphs at length
The world's greatest father is he who has the greatest son
If I had to do it all over I'll will have you replaced by none.

As the clock ticks by, rush not into another year
Enjoy your youth and approach the future with no fear
Arm yourself with conviction, faith and determination
Stay true for this dad is for you full of admiration

It's all about love

It's all about love

The best part of love is to feel your warm embrace
Even though I so dearly love to look at your face
But being cuddled and holding each other tightly
Such that to separate us will take something mighty

How I love to listen to your heart beat
For it's in the heart that love has a seat
With quiet thoughts words need not be spoken
Since to know love silence needs to be broken

Love is special for the one who dedicates time
The heart beat is clearer than the poet's rhyme
It's your love that is what I have always needed
About you I have never anyone's advice heeded

So let me ask you sincerely to be mine
How devastated I'd be if you were to decline
It's only your amazing love that so energises me
There's no one else I want to be close to but thee

Be My Wife

I have seen you close I have seen you from afar

A smile that lights up all around as if you are a star

How I longed that you be mine to forever be by my side

Being the star you to me always to goodness guide

Would that I be able to always bring you joy

I will kill the bull and the fly if it you annoy

But somehow  I know if you want more than that

I fear my failings are exposed at a drop of a hat

How ever can I expect that you accept me, a lowly peasant

Never would I want that my beloved must me resent

And so I shy away and dream only of a blissful life

With full knowledge that you are the only to be my wife.

The Dawn of Love

It has been 17 years since we met on the beautiful autumn morning

Outside the air was crisp while inside I tried to warm it with some humour

But I did contemplate then with that meeting a new beginning was dawning

And soon it became reality what was at first spread in the halls as rumour

 The years were fleeting yet the experiences are much to talk about

As in all relationships they were great times and others unfortunately sad

But the love that I have for you therein lie most certainly little doubt

The bond I feel with you can surely not just be a passing fad

 Much happened, but nothing that ever happens can be so for no reason

With a strong bond so easy it was with you by my side that we grew together

That we weathered the storm in winter and blossomed the following season

Our love is heavy on the scale but it only makes the heart light as a feather

 

 

 

The rose

The Rose

I picked up a bunch of roses no doubt attracted to it by its smell

Ah and when this is given to a loved one it is a means to make all things well

The beauty of the rose is reason we often compare a woman to one

Such that even the lady protects herself like the rose with its thorn

 

Certainly we look beyond the thorns when we indulge in the beauty of the rose

But treat her gently and with this rose your love for her you expose

Truthful though you need to be for from the heart you must give

The way to ensure that all the good does not disappear as if through a sieve
 

So my beloved I present this to you to further enhance the love I have for you

Then perhaps with your normal gentleness you will express your love for me too

But even if your love for me does not run deep through the veins like my love for you

Even though sad, how can I ever feel offended by it for to your feelings you are true

 

For my love, for my roses I give you I ask of you nothing in return

I know it may take much more than that for me your love to earn

Even when not seeing you I can most definitely still compare you to a rose

And my love for you I shout from the rooftops so that everyone knows
